A journalist who was killed whereas overlaying the struggle in Afghanistan nearly 10 years in the past is being remembered with a memorial plaque at the highschool she attended in Vancouver.
Michelle Lang and 4 Canadian troopers have been killed when a navy patrol hit an improvised explosive machine buried within the highway close to Kandahar Metropolis on Dec. 30, 2009.
She was 34.
Lang’s dad and mom say they’re grateful that Magee Secondary Faculty is recognizing their daughter with the plaque.
Sandra Lang says she and her husband Artwork consider their daughter on a regular basis.
A ceremony to unveil the plaque was attended by her family and friends within the college’s auditorium, which holds about 500 folks and was full.
Lang was overlaying the struggle for the Calgary Herald when she was killed.
